Commercial Designer/ Design Assistant

Job description

Expectations
Assist in meeting with clients to understand scope of projects
Assist in preparing initial presentations and project bids for clients
Refine presentation concepts for Design Development phases including specifications of architectural plans and details, lighting, materials, furnishings, and equipment.
Execute drawings in Cad and provide exceptional Construction Documentation to make sure all aspects of the projects are properly documented.
Insure that the projects are built-out based on the documented designs and specifications
Assist in providing constant correspondence with client for the duration of the project

Minimum Qualifications
  • AA or BA in Interior Design or Interior Architecture (preferably from accredited institution);
  • Professional or academic experience developing interior design concepts, from initial inspiration through documentation;
  • Strong experience drafting in CAD;
  • Experience selecting colors, materials, furniture and finishes;
  • Ability to design material presentation and present to clients;
  • Familiarity with a variety of commercial vendors
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Powerpoint;
  • Knowledge of lighting design helpful;
  • A desire to work on an integrated architectural and interior design team;
  • Team player with ability to take direction as well as work independently;
  • Strong communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Minimum two years of experience in commercial interior design;
    • Knowledge of basic code and accessibility requirements;
    • Experience with complete documentation of interior design, including construction details, casework, and schedules;
    • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines;
